Bed head signs

Every patient with a tracheostomy needs a Tracheostomy bed head sign clearly visible above their bed space.

The bed head sign provides important information regarding the type of tracheostomy, size, date of insertion and if your patient has a difficult airway or not.

Emergency algorithm

The back of the bed head sign contains the emergency algorithm used here at King's:

Laryngectomy

If your patient has a laryngectomy, you need to ensure this bed head sign is clearly visible at their bed space.
